YOUR NEW CUSTOM HOME IS WHERE YOUR HEART IS

The home you grew up in was the foundation for many of your family memories.  It's where your parents raised their children, where you grew up, you celebrated birthdays, holidays and it was in the neighborhood you lived in and where you played with your friends.

Building a new custom home allows you to enhance those memories, not only by allowing you to design and build the home of your dreams, but it also allows your family to share in the building process.

One of the first Construction Permanent Loans I provided years ago was for a young couple in Westminster, MD.  They built a beautiful new home to raise their family.  When their amazing new home was completed, they had a fantastic house warming party to show it to all of their friends and family.  There must have been over 50 people attending, all marveling at their amazing new home and all the wonderful features.

As I made my way around, I noticed a group of people huddled around the coffee table in the great room. They were all marveling at the families photo album.  You see my clients were into scrap booking.  For those of you who do not know what scrap booking is, it is the creation of a theme based photo album where you apply graphical widgets and objects around the photos to enhance the experience being portrayed.

The day they settled on their Construction Permanent Loan, immediately after closing they went to the lot and setup a ground breaking ceremony.  The first picture in their Custom Home Scrap Book was that of their 7 year old son, wearing a little yellow hardhat cutting the yellow ribbon draped across the lot which a giant pair of scissors.

The next photo, their son wearing the same yellow hardhat with a small plastic shovel getting ready to break ground.  The next was their son standing at the bottom of the hole for the foundation, again with his hardhat and plastic shovel with a little dirt on it as if he dug the hole for foundation himself.

As we flipped through the pages, he was there every step of the way with a concrete trowel, a 2x4, hammer and nails, carrying a plastic plumbing pipe, a piece of insulation, with an electric receptacle and screw driver, paint brush, etc...  It was like their 7 year old had built the entire house himself. They even had him in the yard throwing grass seed, with the same cute little yellow hardhat.

Their foundation for years of fantastic family memories, actually started with foundation of their new custom home.  I am sure this scrap book of memories will be cherished for many years to come and passed down for generations to follow.
